Considered the best theatrical director of the 20th century and one of the great renovators of contemporary theatre, Peter Brook has worked on stages throughout Europe and in countries including India, South Africa and Iran, as well as directing opera and film. Embracing almost all theatrical styles, his works include titles such as Measure for Measure, The Tempest and The Visit.
COMMUNICATION AND HUMANITIES
Having become the most important cultural institution in Spain and one of the most outstanding art galleries worldwide, the Prado Museum possesses a collection of around 8000 paintings, of which 1700 are on display in the Villanueva building, while more than 3200 are distributed among 255 cultural institutions throughout Spain.

Lindsey Vonn is the female skier with the most victories in the history of the Alpine Ski World Cup. With her 63rd podium in 2016, she broke the record held by Annemarie Moser-Pröll since the seventies. She has come first 82 times in this competition, just four off the record held by Swedish skier Ingemar Stenmark. An Olympic medal winner on three occasions, she has been world champion on two occasions in the specialties of downhill and super-G, three times runner-up and third in super-G and downhill.
LITERATURE
A scholar and intellectual who addresses the fundamental issues of contemporary ethics and epistemology, as well as being known for her feminist militancy, her work has contributed to interdisciplinary dialogue between the sciences and the humanities. Translated into more than thirty languages, Hustvedt published her first novel, The Blindfold, in 1992 and achieved international renown with her third book, What I Loved (2003).

Considered one of the most prestigious international sociologists, Portes has stood out for his research activity in the fields of international migration, economic sociology, comparative development, the urbanization of developing countries and social marginality. An advocate of the New Economic Sociology, his studies have become a source of reference to guide and organize the empirical research of social scientists worldwide.
TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
Joanne Chory field of research has focused on the study of regulatory mechanisms in plants, from the molecular to the cellular level, as well as plant reactions to environmental conditions of stress. Sandra Myrna Diáz is specializing in botany and considered a reference figure in the field of ecology, she has participated in the development of a methodological tool to quantify the effects and benefits of plant biodiversity and the plant ecology of ecosystems and their exploitation.
CONCORD
The city of Gdańsk has become the symbol of resistance against Nazism and the fight for the recovery of freedom in Europe. Considered a welcoming, generous city, since the restoration of democracy in Poland thirty years ago, Gdańsk has stood out for its dynamic economy, openness, civic cohesion and tolerant nature, especially through programmes aimed at the integration of immigrants and defence of the LGBT community.
