In his youth, Haruki Murakami ran the ‘Peter Cat’, a jazz kissa, the name given to a type of hospitality establishment in Japan where shelves full of classics of this musical genre abound. According to the author himself, at the Peter Cat “concerts were scheduled, drinks and simple meals were served.” What’s more, he wrote his first novels there. Musicians Carlos Pizarro and Jorge Viejo will perform some jazz pieces closely related to the life and literary career of the Princess of Asturias Laureate for Literature.
