A meeting with a delegation of primary school children participating in the activity titled “The Key to Health” within the “Taking the Floor” cultural programme for schools. Focussing on the work of joint Princess of Asturias Laureates for Technical and Scientific Research Daniel J. Drucker, Jeffrey M. Friedman, Joel F. Habener, Jens Juul Holst and Svetlana Mojsov, the activity proposed a series of topics centred on the endocrine bases of diabetes and obesity, a global public health problem with no effective treatment to date. Taking these facts as a reference, the pupils had to do some drawings based on a teaching support text adapted for this purpose by Amador Menéndez Velázquez, member of the Jury for the 2024 Princess of Asturias Award for Technical and Scientific Research.
