Pablo Serrano Prince of Asturias Award for the Arts 1982

The members of the Jury for the 1982 Prince of Asturias Award for the Arts, Jesus Aguirre, Duke of Alba, Plácido Arango Arias, Ricardo Bofill, José Renau, Federico Sopeña and Paulino Vicente, gathered in Oviedo on the 6th and 7th of May, 1982, under the presidency of Domingo García Sabell and with Román Suárez Blanco acting as secretary, have agreed to grant this award to the sculptor Pablo Serrano Aguilar, for the universal transcendence of his work, as well as for its creative and humanistic dimension. The jury have furthermore taken into consideration his capacity to bring the most noble essence of art within the reach of the people.
