Grupo de Contadora Prince of Asturias Award for International Cooperation 1984

The members of the Jury for the 1984 Prince of Asturias Award for Latin-American Cooperation*, Rafael Escuredo, Rafael Fernández Álvarez, Ignacio Fierro Viña, Alán García Pérez, Gregorio López Bravo, Teodoro López-Cuesta Egocheaga, José Prat García, Gabriel Valdés and Luis Yáñez-Barnuevo, gathered in Oviedo on the 27th and 28th of June, 1984, under the presidency of Adolfo Suárez and with José Cosmen Adelaida acting as secretary, have decided unanimously to grant this award to the Contadora Group.

In this decision, the Jury have considered the usefulness and importance of the initiative of this working party who have spared no effort, with patient, tenacious dialogue, to achieve peace in Central America.
