International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources and the World Wide Fund for Nature Prince of Asturias Award for Concord 1988

The members of the Jury for the 1988 Prince of Asturias Award for Concorde, formed by the member of the Board of Governors of the Prince of Asturias Foundation: José Ramón Álvarez Rendueles, Agustín Antuña Alonso, Plácido Arango Arias, Adolfo Barthe Aza, José Ramón Fernández Cuevas, Graciano García García, Teodoro López-Cuesta Egocheaga, José Antonio Martínez Álvarez, José López-Muñiz y González-Madroño, Santiago Rubio Sañudo and Román Suárez Blanco, José Cosmen Adelaida, Ignacio Fierro Viña, Martín González del Valle, Baron of Grado, Ignacio Herrero Garralda, Marquis of Aledo, Alfredo Lafita Pardo, Antonio Masip Hidalgo and Juan Tesoro Oliver, gathered in Oviedo on the 25th and 26th of May, 1988 under the presidency of Pedro de Silva Cienfuegos-Jovellanos and with José Antonio Caicoya Cores acting as secretary, have decided unanimously to grant this award jointly to the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural resources and to the World-Wide Fund for Nature, for their charitable work in support of peace, progress and prosperity in the world, through the conservation of humanity´s natural heritage.
