Luis Díez del Corral and Luis Sánchez Agesta

The members of the Jury for the 1988 Prince of Asturias Award for Social Sciences, Gonzalo Anes, Gloria Begué, Pío Cabanillas, Íñigo Cavero, Mario Conde, Ángel Fernández Noriega, Juan Pablo Fusi, Carmelo Lisón, Rafael López Pintor, José Luis Pinillos, Luis Suárez Fernández, and Juan Luis de la Vallina Velarde, gathered in Oviedo on 5th and 6th of May, 1988 under the presidency of Manuel Fraga Iribarne and with José López-Muñiz y González-Madroño acting as secretary, have agreed unanimously to grant this award to Luis Díez del Corral and Luis Sánchez Agesta. To Luis Díez del Corral for his exceptional contribution to the history of ideas and political,institutions, manifest in works of international impact; for his labours in the Royal Academies of History, of Fine Arts of San Fernando and of Political and Moral Sciences; and for his exemplary teaching work, within a humanistic and liberal tradition.

For Mr. Luís Sánchez Agesta, for his dedication to research and lectureship on Political and Constitutional Law, and for his extensive scientific production, demonstrated in his many publications, outstanding amongst which are his contributions to the analytical study of the 1978 Spanish Constitution.
