Claudio Boada, D. José Celma Prieto, D. Ramón Colao Caicoya, D. Juan Manuel Desvalls, marqués del Poal, D. José Esteve, D. Martín Eyries Valmaseda, D. José Ramón Fernández Cuevas, D.ª Paz Fernández Felgueroso, D. Francisco de la Fuente Sánchez, D. Francisco Goicoerrotea Sarri, marqués de Valdeterrazo, D. Martín González del Valle, barón de Grado, D. José Luis Méndez López, D. Carlos Pérez de Bricio, D. Miguel Ángel Pesquera, D. Rafael del Pino, D.ª Helena Revoredo, D. Matías Rodríguez Inciarte, D. José Antonio Rumeu, D. Antonio Suárez Gutiérrez, D. Luis Manuel Tejuca, D. José María Villanueva, D. Santiago de Ybarra, D. Santiago Zaldumbide Viadas, chaired by Vicente Álvarez Areces and with D. Pedro de Silva acting as secretary, have agreed to bestow the 2003 Prince of Asturias Award for Concord on Ms. Joanne Kathleen Rowling, for the nature of her works, which transcends the spheres of literature to become a point of union that links continents and generations, fostering the imagination as a source of freedom at the service of good, and cooperation and solidarity amongst people.
