At its meeting in Oviedo, the Jury for the 2005 Prince of Asturias Award for Concord, made up of Mrs. Paz Fernández Felgueroso, mayoress of Gijón; Mr. José Ramón Álvarez Rendueles, president of the Prince of Asturias Foundation; Mr. José María Arias Mosquera, Mr. Adolfo Barthe Aza, Mr. Antonio Basagoiti García-Tuñón, Mr. Javier Benjumea, Mr. Miguel Blesa, Mr. Claudio Boada, Mr. José Celma Prieto, Mr. Ramón Colao Caicoya, Mr. José Cosmen Adelaida, Mr. Fernando de Almansa, Mr. Juan Manuel Desvalls, Mr. José Esteve, Mr. Felipe Fernández, Mr. José Ramón Fernández Cuevas, Mr. Francisco de la Fuente Sánchez, Mr. Juan Ramón García Secades, Mr. Martín González del Valle, Mr. Juan Luis Iglesias Prada, Mr. José Luis Méndez López, Mr. Fernando Menéndez Rexach, Mr. José María Ramírez Pomatta, Mrs. Helena Revoredo, Mr. Matías Rodríguez Inciarte, Mr. José Antonio Rumeu, Mr. Antonio Suárez Gutiérrez, Mr. Antonio Trevín Lombán, Mr. Gonzalo Urquijo Fernández-Araoz, Mr. José María Villanueva, Mr. Santiago de Ybarra, Mr. Santiago Zaldumbide Viadas, chaired by Mr. Vicente Álvarez Areces and with Mr. Pedro de Silva as secretary, has decided to confer the 2005 Prince of Asturias Award for Concord on the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul for their exceptional social and humanitarian work to support the underprivileged, carried out in exemplary fashion for almost four centuries, and for their fostering worldwide of the values of justice, peace and solidarity.
