Statement by Emilio Lledó Íñigo, on being bestowed with the 2015 Princess of Asturias Award for Communications and Humanities

“I am most grateful to receive the Princess of Asturias Award; it fills me with particular satisfaction and pride that the award is for Communication and Humanities, as these have been the foundation of my life, with all its mistakes and accomplishments.

I believe in the importance of words and communication in building the concept that human beings nowadays call the Humanities, which symbolized for the Greeks the idea of justice, truth, solidarity and philanthropy.”
