Statement by Sylvia A. Earle on being granted the 2018 Princess of Asturias Award for Concord

“I am deeply honored to receive the Princess of Asturias Concord Award and accept with pleasure the responsibility the award conveys to be a voice for the ocean, for nature, and for help achieve peace between humankind and the natural systems that sustain us.

I look forward to being in Spain for the ceremony in October and will welcome opportunities to celebrate this wonderful honor.”
