The Prado Museum 2019 Princess of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities

At its meeting in Oviedo, the Jury for the 2019 Princess of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities, composed of Luis María Anson Oliart, Alberto Edgardo Barbieri, César Bona García, Irene Cano Piquero, Alberto Corazón Climent, Aurora Egido Martínez, Taciana Fisac Badell, Elsa González Díaz de Ponga, Santiago González Suárez, Alan Goodman, Álex Grijelmo García, Miguel Ángel Liso Tejada and Rosa María Mateo Isasi, chaired by Víctor García de la Concha and with Óscar Loureda acting as secretary, has decided to confer the 2019 Princess of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities on the Prado Museum (Museo Nacional del Prado), a symbol of our shared cultural legacy, in recognition of the work of conservation and dissemination of one of the world’s richest artistic heritages.

The Jury likewise recognizes the exemplary contribution to the humanistic development of past, present and future society arising from the dedication and commitment of its workers, trustees, friends and public over the last 200 years.
