Prince of Asturias Awards 1981–2014. Speeches
8 O viedo | C ampoamor T heatre | Likewise, I express my thanks to Horacio Sáenz Guerrero, who represents the ever-stimulating activity of journalism at this ceremony. It is certain that the world’s problems that await us in the future shall be momentous due to their complexity. In this regard, I wish to highlight the immense labour of Professors Moshinsky and Cardona. And now that I am about to begin my studies at the Autonomous University of Madrid, I feel special satisfaction and respect before the illustrious Professors Sánchez Agesta and Díez del Corral, whose mark on the university is profound and timeless. Thank you also to someone who, like Jorge Oteiza, humanizes space and time in works that make us feel like one of God’s creatures. As far as writers are concerned, my recognition goes out to Carmen Martín Gaite and the poet José Ángel Valente for having illuminated the lives of so many readers. And thank you, last of all, toAsturias and the Asturian people, who have placed their enthusiasm and vigour behind the promising development of these Awards that bear my name. 15 th O ctober 1988
