9 Fundación Princesa de Asturias MEMORIA 2023 www.fpa.es La presente Memoria resume la actividad desarrollada por la Fundación en el pasado ejercicio. Un testimonio de la vitalidad y el fortalecimiento de nuestra institución, de su trabajo continuado y de su visión de futuro. Deseo dar las gracias a quienes, con generosidad y compromiso, comparten nuestros fines y nos animan a seguir adelante, a nuestros patronos y, muy especialmente, a Sus Majestades los Reyes y a Sus Altezas Reales la Princesa de Asturias y la Infanta doña Sofía. Su apoyo es imprescindible para dar cumplimiento a nuestra misión fundacional, la concesión de los Premios Princesa de Asturias, tarea a la que hemos dedicado nuestros esfuerzos y recursos. La programación cultural desarrollada en el marco de la Semana de los Premios, que se consolida como un eje fundamental en la difusión de la obra de los galardonados, congregó a cuarenta y dos mil personas en torno a más de un centenar de actividades. La entrega del Premio al Pueblo Ejemplar de Asturias y el compromiso de la institución con el mundo rural, puesto de manifiesto en el encuentro que celebramos cada año; el sostenimiento del Coro de la Fundación, a cuyos conciertos han asistido cerca de nueve mil personas, y los proyectos con la comunidad educativa, que participa de manera entusiasta en nuestras propuestas, forman parte de este éxito que considero justo reconocer y ensalzar. Estos logros nos mueven a reflexionar en cómo debemos trabajar en los próximos años, tratando de innovar y de acompañar a nuestra presidenta de honor, Su Alteza Real la Princesa de Asturias, en el camino emprendido hacia una creciente responsabilidad en sus funciones institucionales. Con la mirada puesta en nuestros premiados, a quienes agradecemos, como afirmó la Princesa de Asturias el pasado mes de octubre en la ceremonia, «esa luz que proyectan sobre los retos y la complejidad del mundo que nos toca vivir». Y también por hacer que los premios «nos animen a recorrer un camino compartido y esperanzado, sin eludir esfuerzos y con responsabilidad». Un propósito que todos deseamos hacer nuestro. This Report, which summarizes the activity carried out by the Foundation over the past year, stands as testimony to the vitality and strengthening of our institution, its continued work and its vision for the future. I wish to thank those who both generously and committedly share our goals and encourage us to move forward, our Trustees and, most especially, Their Majesties The King and Queen and Their Royal Highnesses The Princess of Asturias and Infanta Sofía. Their support is essential to fulfil our founding mission, the granting of the Princess of Asturias Awards, a task to which we have dedicated our efforts and resources. The cultural programme carried out within the framework of Awards Week, duly consolidated as a fundamental axis in the dissemination of the work of our Laureates, brought together forty-two thousand people at more than a hundred activities. The bestowal of the Exemplary Town of Asturias Award and the institution's commitment to the rural world, evident in the meeting we hold each year, the support of the Foundation Choir, whose concerts have been attended by nearly nine thousand people, and the projects with the educational community, which participates enthusiastically in our proposals, all form part of this success which I deem worthy of recognition and praise. These achievements move us to reflect on how we should work in the coming years, aiming to innovate and accompany our honorary president, Her Royal Highness The Princess of Asturias, on her path towards growing responsibility in terms of her institutional roles. We fix our gaze on our Laureates, to whom we offer our thanks, as the Princess of Asturias put it at last October’s ceremony, “for that light they project on the challenges and complexity of the world in which we live” and for making the Awards “encourage us to responsibly tread a shared, hopeful path, without eluding the task at hand.” A goal that we all aspire to make our own.
