MEMORIA 2015
La Fundación continúa orientando su labor a
promover todos aquellos valores que son patrimonio
universal con el objetivo de llegar al mayor número
posible de personas con nuestras actividades. Lo
hacemos porque estamos convencidos de que todas
las sociedades disponen de un valioso acervo cultural
que es necesario transmitir y compartir.
Los actos celebrados con motivo de la entrega
de los Premios Princesa de Asturias congregaron a
cerca de 17.000 personas, enlazadas por el vínculo
de la cultura. En la última edición de nuestros
galardones llevamos a cabo, además, un proyecto
dirigido de forma expresa a la comunidad educativa
con el objetivo de acercar nuestra labor a los jóvenes,
para así compartir con ellos ese patrimonio de
conocimiento que representa la obra de nuestros
premiados. También hemos potenciado la imagen
de nuestros coros con una gira por Andalucía que
ha tenido un gran éxito y hemos consolidado
la actividad de nuestra Escuela Internacional de
Música, cuyos Cursos de Verano tuvimos el honor de
inaugurar en presencia de Su Majestad la Reina. No
olvidamos tampoco el trabajo meritorio y callado de
las comunidades vecinales del Principado, a las que
en cada edición se reconoce con el Premio al Pueblo
Ejemplar de Asturias.
Estas iniciativas y actividades se completan con
otras de las que se da cuenta en la presente Memoria
y que se llevan a cabo conforme a los principios
de transparencia, innovación y sostenibilidad que
fundamentan nuestra gestión.
Quiero transmitir mi profundo agradecimiento
a Sus Majestades los Reyes, cuyo compromiso con
nuestra Fundación, ahora bajo la Presidencia de
Honor de Su Alteza Real la Princesa de Asturias, es
imprescindible para avanzar en nuestros objetivos.
Y gracias también a todos nuestros patronos por su
generosa colaboración y su contribución, que hace
posible nuestra tarea.
The Foundation has continued to focus its efforts
on promoting all those values considered to be
the universal heritage of humanity so that our
activities reach as many people as possible. We do
so because we are convinced that all societies possess
a valuable cultural heritage which is necessary
to transmit and share.
The events surrounding the Princess of Asturias
Awards Ceremony brought together around 17,000
people, linked by the bond of culture. In this,
the latest edition of our Awards, we also launched
a project aimed expressly at the educational
community with the goal of making our work more
accessible to young people and share with them the
legacy of knowledge that the work of our Laureates
represents. The reputation of our choirs has also been
boosted following a very successful tour of Andalusia.
The activities of our International Music School
were likewise consolidated, with the opening of its
Summer Courses being honoured by the presence
of Her Majesty The Queen. In addition, mention
must be made of the silent, yet estimable work
of neighbourhood communities in the Principality,
recognized each year through the Exemplary Town
of Asturias Award.
These initiatives and activities are supplemented
by others contained in this Annual Report, all
of which are carried out in accordance with
the principles of transparency, innovation and
sustainability that underpin our organization.
I wish to convey my deep gratitude to Their
Majesties, whose commitment to our Foundation,
now under the Honorary Presidency of HRH The
Princess of Asturias, is essential to furthering
our goals. My thanks also go out to all our Trustees
and Patrons for their generous support and
contributions, which make our work possible.
